While I’m on the subject of ears, I thought I’d link up to this article from Kate Farmer at Thinking Horse, who has some interesting thoughts about the buzz around the film Buck which is still playing in UK cinemas (miss this film at your peril!)
Watch for the nuances and the details. Buck Brannaman is, as Robert Redford so aptly says, “the real deal”.
I have watched the film on many occasions, and when I’m having a problem with either my own horses or someone else’s horse, I always ask myself “how would Buck handle this”.
Always wear appropriate safety items of clothing, gloves, shoes and head protection when handling or riding your horse. There is always some risk involved in horse training for both you and the horse. Be sensible and stay within your level of training. This information illustrates the training methods and techniques I and my colleagues use. It is your responsibility to use it wisely. It is not intended to replace personal instruction from a professional instructor. Keep yourself and your horse out of trouble.
